After losing his playing privilege on the Japanese tour for 2 years, he came back to the tour in 1997.

After an eight year search of his second victory, he captured JCB Classic Sendai in June 2001. He won the tournament by 2 strokes with the final round 71. In extremely windy condition through the tournament week, his accurate and long drive gave him an advantage.
