Hal Method
The Hal Method is a new form of exercise instruction developed based on the basic
components of human motion. By combining various exercises, the Hal Method works to
correct muscular asymmetries and distortions, encouraging the body to instinctively
recognize the alignment of the central vertical axis and the correct position of the body’s
center of gravity.
In Western training methodology, this is often called “the core.” In traditional Japanese
martial arts, the same concept is known as the “tanden,” the focal point of the body’s
energies. The Hal Method is built on the idea of improving overall physical balance by
emphasizing the central part of the body during strengthening. The concept applies to all
physical strengthening, and is not limited to any specific sport.
